Evgeni Utkin – founder and President of hi-tech holding company KM Core

Pioneer-entrepreneur in the field of high technologies in the Ukraine and Russia, "builder of knowledge exchange’s bridges" between East and West.

Evgeni Utkin was born in the town of Donetsk, in the Rostov region of Russia, in 1958.

Education:

  • 1982 - Moscow Institute of Electronic Engineering, majoring in Microprocessor systems (Zelenograd)
  • 2001 - INSEAD Business School (France), Advanced Management program
  • 2008 - IMD Business School (Switzerland), Program of Innovative Business Management
  • 2009 - Haas School, Berkeley University (USA), Venture Capital Executive Program
  • 2011-2012 - IESE Business School (Brazil), the Wharton School (USA), CEIBS (China), Global CEO Program


Work experience:

  • 1975-1976 - electrical mechanic at Zapadnaya mine, Donetsk, Rostov region
  • 1980-1982 - researcher at the Science and Research Institute of Precision Technology in Zelenograd (Russia)
  • 1982-1990 - developer, Head of Laboratory, and Chief Designer at the Kiev Science and Research Institute of Micro Instruments
  • 1990 - founded  Kvazar-Micro company and served as its President and Chairman of the Board
  • 2006-2007 - president of public hi-tech company with a market capitalization of $2.3 billion
  • 2007-2010 - chairman of КМ Securities, a venture capitalist
  • 2010 - founder and President of the hi-tech holding KM Core


Achievements:

  • was awarded by the Government of Ukraine the special title of ‘Outstanding Employee of the Ukrainian Industry’
  • 2007 - became a laureate of the "TOP-10 managers of Russia" award
  • 1998-2001 - served as chairman of the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
  • 1997 - "Businessman of the Year" Ukraine
